Matte Finish Balancing Cream

As a skin pro, I sometimes see the same struggles in a mature woman - and her younger pre-adolescent hormonal high teenager. This inner-workings biologically are often the same and the treatment for oily or combination skin, is about addressing and controlling the three triggers that leads to congestion and hormone inducing cortisol triggers (inflammation).

The first trigger is an over-production of oil in the sebaceous glands, this creates congestion in the follicle wall leading to breakouts and enlarged pores. The second is due to cellular accumulation; in healthy skin cell turnover is natural, but in congested skin dead cells accumulate in the neck of the follicle, creating blockages in the pores.

The combination of these two triggers; excess oil and skin cells in the lining of the pore creates the perfect environment for the third and final trigger bacteria, the more bacteria that multiply the more severe the breakouts and the more infected they become, causing inflammation and painful pustules.

Matte Finish Balance Cream addresses these triggers, by slowing down the overactive oil producing glands, whilst eliminating the food source for the bacteria.

On the Up and Up.

In addition to cortisol causing inflammation, hormones influence many of the primary causes of acne including:

- Excess sebum production

- Abnormally sticky skin cells that shed and accumulate in and clog up the hair follicles

- Increased amount of acne-causing bacterium on the skin

Standard topical acne solutions are not always suitable for women with aging skin, as our skin tends to become drier as we get older, and these medications further dry out the skin and cause irritation.

I’ve addressed many of the factors of aging and adult acne in the “free & clear” cream. In order to maintain a healthy skin biome, I’ve included active Probiotic derivatives, that are clinically proven to improve skin’s hydration and dermal volume, which helps diminish fine lines. A balanced biome restores your skin’s health, brightness, balance, and clarity.

Botanical extracts from our Triple Action Gentle Acid Complex helps further fight blemishes and even skin tone by gently stimulating natural exfoliation of cells in the pore lining. The ultra-soothing cannabidiol (CBD) extract helps calm any inflammation often associated with breakouts.

CBD oil can reduce acne because of its anti-inflammatory properties that may work to reduce the visible inflammation caused by clogged hair follicles. In addition to the anti-inflammatory function, CBD oil may also help treat acne in a number of other ways.

CBD activates the endocannabinoid system, which includes anandamide, a neurological transmitter that regulates cell growth. When this isn’t balanced, it can negatively impact the skin. CBD oil also may help inhibit overactive oil production, which is one of the key causes of acne.

One other benefit of CBD over prescription medications is that it only targets the problem-causing cells, leaving healthy cells alone and reducing side-effects common to many acne medications, such as dry and irritated skin.

The appearance of pores can be reduced by keeping them clear. Our triple action gentle acid complex balances pH and exfoliates to decongest pores and slough away lackluster skin surface cells.
